DAD-OF-TWO Garry Winkle was more than three times the drink-drive limit when he crashed his vehicle into another van.
North Staffordshire magistrates heard how the 25-year-old was 'emotional' after splitting up with his partner, and went to the pub after work.

House repeatedly rammed by stolen lorry in attack
POLICE have launched an investigation after a house was damaged in a targeted attack.
The house on Broadfield Road, Goldenhill, was repeatedly rammed by a stolen lorry at around 1:35 am this morning.
Residents were awoken by the noise and witnessed the incident before the lorry drove off, also damaging a number of vehicles in the street.

Jail for drug addict who let dealers use his home as a base
DRUG addict Gary Farnell allowed his home to be used as a base by major dealers from Merseyside.
The 37-year-old had regular phone contact with Class A drug suppliers from Liverpool and let them use his address in High Street, Talke, at least twice a week.
Now Farnell has been jailed for three years and nine months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Burglar disturbed by neighbour jumped out first floor window
POLICE are hunting a burglar who sneaked into a home – only to escape out of an upstairs window when he was disturbed.
The would-be thief climbed through the unlocked kitchen window of a house in Regina Street, Smallthorne, at 1.50pm on Thursday.
But when a neighbour spotted him, the intruder jumped out of a window on the first floor and ran off towards Camp Road.

Drug seizures by police fall in Staffordshire
THE NUMBER of drug seizures in the county has continued to fall. Latest figures have revealed that between 2014 and 2015 Staffordshire Police carried out 3,312 – 9 per cent fewer than the previous year. The Government data relates to all Class A, B and C substances. Across England and Wales there were 167,059 drug seizures in England and Wales – 27,287 less than the previous 12 months. Cheshire saw a rise of 21 per cent with 831 seizures in 2014/2015.

Man on legal high tried to 'choke' police officer
'AGGRESSIVE' John Cooper attacked two police officers while on drugs.
The 26-year-old was said to have become 'violent' and 'unpredictable' after taking a legal high.

Inquest date set for 46-year-old murdered by brother
A CORONER will be updated on the jailing of a murderer who killed his sister.
Gareth Hindmarsh, aged 35, of Tawney Crescent, Meir, is currently serving a minimum of 22 years in prison for strangling 46-year-old Linda Norcup at her home in Beckett Avenue, Meir, in June.
Now an inquest will be held into Linda's death on Thursday afternoon at North Staffordshire Coroner's Court.
