MEDICS treated a man for an eye injury after he was assaulted in Hanley.Two unknown offenders attacked the victim on Stafford Street before running away from the scene in the early hours of Sunday.West Midlands Ambulance Service were called just before 2.30am.A spokesman said: "A man was treated for a facial injury at the scene by the ambulance crew and discharged. Son admits killing 95-year-old mother at her Stoke-on-Trent home
PENSIONER David Powell has admitted killing his 95-year-old mother.
The 74-year-old pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Cecilia Powell on the grounds of diminished responsibility when he appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court today.
The plea was accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service after Powell had earlier pleaded not guilty to murdering his mother.
